An Export Workflow is a saved Export Data configuration. The workflow remembers every choice you made — which holes, which fields, which tables, which columns, which output mode — so you can re-run the export later without stepping through the wizard again.
Workflows turn recurring deliveries (a weekly assay update, a monthly project dump for the modeller, a daily QA/QC export) into a one-click action.
Save a workflow
At the end of Export Data Step 5, before clicking Export:
- Tick Save Workflow
- Give it a name (e.g.,
Weekly Assays,Modeller dump,QA daily) - Click Export
The export downloads as usual, and the configuration is saved. You’ll see it listed when you open the Export Data wizard next time.
Run a saved workflow
Open the export wizard. Saved workflows are listed at the top.
- Re-run with the same drillhole selection — click Run on the workflow card. The export starts immediately with no further configuration. Useful when the workflow’s drillhole list is fixed (e.g., a specific deliverable to a partner).
- Re-run with a fresh selection — click Edit on the workflow card to load it into the wizard, where you can re-select which drillholes to include while keeping the rest of the config. Useful when the columns and format are stable but the holes change each time.
What’s tracked
Each workflow stores:
- Drillhole selection (which holes were ticked)
- Template fields (which collar fields, with any renamed headers)
- Tables and columns (which were included, in which order)
- Sheet configuration
- Format, output mode, file mode
Plus, after each run:
- Last run at — timestamp of the most recent export
- Last-run hole IDs — which drillholes were included in the most recent run
The last-run metadata is useful for incremental exports: you can see which holes were included last time and decide whether to add new holes or stick with the original list.
Common workflow patterns
Weekly assay delivery to a partner
- Drillholes: every hole in the project (re-selected each week to pick up new ones)
- Fields:
name,easting,northing,elevation - Tables:
Assaysonly - Format: XLSX, Single File, Standard
- Name:
Weekly Assays — Partner XYZ
Modeller dump
- Drillholes: every hole, no exceptions
- Fields: all collar fields
- Tables: all tables
- Format: XLSX, Single File, Merged
- Name:
Modeller dump
QA/QC daily
- Drillholes: only holes edited in the last 24 hours (selected manually each day)
- Fields: just
name - Tables:
AssaysandLithology - Format: CSV, ZIP
- Name:
QA daily
Edit or delete a workflow
On the workflow card, Edit opens the workflow in the wizard so you can adjust any step and save again. Delete removes the workflow.
Editing a workflow doesn’t run an export — you have to click Export at the end of the wizard if you want one.
Tips
- Name workflows for the recipient.
Modeller dumpis clearer thanExport 2. When you have several active deliverables, names matter. - Don’t fear duplicates. It’s fine to have multiple workflows for similar deliverables —
Weekly Assays — Partner XYZandWeekly Assays — Internal QAcan have slightly different column lists and live side by side. - Hole selection is the part that goes stale. Fields and columns change rarely; the hole list grows as the program advances. Use Edit to refresh selections.
